Description | The John Martini Medical Bill, 1736-1738, enumerates the medical services and their fees provided by Dr. John Martini billed to Mr. Hill from September 28, 1736 through January 2, 1738. Services included visits to Mr. and Mrs. Hatty, to an "Indian Man", and to a "negroe" [sic] woman, girl, and child for medical attendance and administration of medicines. The bill is a detailed accounting of visits, ailments, treatments and therapies. Treatments include bleeding, purgatives, herbal medicines, and others. Also noted on the bill is attendance to Hester Fleming during her bout with smallpox. |
