Con't. Audit Report of THE SCRIBE. LIABILITIES & SURPLUS Accounts Payable 314.28 SURPLUS: Balance. January 1, 1958 Net increase for year Balance, December 31, 1958 Total Liabilities & Surplus 3182.69 44.44 3,227.13 3641.41 Profit Loss Statement for the year ended December 31, 1958 Income 3,518.56 Expenses Binding. photo supplies, ate. Commissions Clerical Office Supplies Accounting Postage used Bank Service. Charges Total Expenses Net increase in surplus for year 2,377.64 36.08 536.90 250.00 46.00 138.00 87.43 3.07 3,474.12 44.44 The audit report the Board of Finance had not been completed according to the Chairman, Dr. Robert M. Hope. Dr. Hope, Chairman of the Board of Finance reported that the Society had received recent bequests and moved that these be invested and held for future use. This was seconded by Dr. Messervy, and alter a brief discussion, was passed by the Society. Dr. Hope then reported to the Society the manner in which the Board of Finance was handling funds from the Morawetz Estate. He reported, in particular, that certain classes of U. S. Treasury bonds have come due or were to comes due in the next few years and described the Board of Finance's method of holding these funds in cash for use in the near future as the building plans progress. The audit report of the medical Society of South Carolina was read by the Secretary and received as information. 2/12/59
