This Committee is to consist of Dr. Francis B. Johnson, Chairman, Dr. Daniel W. Ellis and Dr. Edward F. Parker. There was some discussion in reference to the increased license fee schedule set by the City, but no action by the Society was taken. Dr. Joseph I. Waring, immediate Past President of the Society, asked for the privilege of the floor and presented a gavel as a token of office present Incumbent of the Chair, Dr. A. E. Baker. new President Dr. Francis G. Cain addressed the Society on the subject of the Alumni Association of the Medical College, and encouraged membership in the Association by all of those eligible. New members A number of members of the Society who had not previously signed the Constitution were then escorted to the Chair and entered their names: Constitution. Dr. John C. Bonner, Dr. Wm. S. Brockington, Dr. John H. Pierson, Jr., Dr. Edward E. McKee, Dr. Charles M. Moore, Dr. McKenzie P. Moore, Jr. Dr. Ii. W. Quizenberry and Dr. Howard Snyder. Mr. Meadors After being introduced by the President, Mr. M. L. Meadors, Director of Public Relations of the State Medical Association, addressed the Society on some of the possibilities of President Truman's plans for governmental control of the practice of medicine, and spoke of the recent actions and plans of the American Medical Association to forestall this possibility. Dr. Julian P. Price, Secretary of the State Medical Association, then told the Society of some of the things that might well happen under Bureaucratic Control, stressed the importance of all contributing financially to the American Medical Association to aid in its efforts in opposition to this program.
