              Minutes of Regular Meeting of the Medical Society of South Carolina, Tuesday, January 8th, 1946, at 8z30 P.M. at Roper Hospital.

Call to Order:

The meeting was called to order by the President, Dr. M. W. Beach.

		The Minutes of the Annual Meeting, December 18th, 1945, were read and approved
with the corrections noted by Dr. W. C. O'Driscoll to the effect that he had not
signed the Reports of the Board of Finance and the Committee on Ross Estate.
Dr.Bold and	Dr. F. H. Bold and Dr. C. Capers Smith were elected members of the Society
In re. new	The Secretary read a letter from Mr. F. Oliver Bates, Secretary of the Board
of Commissioners, referring the new Staff Rules of Roper Hospital to the Society, and
Hospital requesting its approval. After same discussion, a motion was passed to refer this
matter to a special committee for study and report at a later date.
Committee	- The President appointed Dr. W. E. Prioleau Chairman, and Dr. James O'Hear and
Dr. Robert Wilson, Jr. to this Comittee.
Dr. W. Cyril O'Drisooll then read to the Society a letter from Dr. G. McF.
Mood, Secretary of the Board of Finance, acknowledging the receipt on December 20th,
1945, of Four Hundred Twenty dollars ($420.) from the Aleton Bequest from Dr. O'Driscoll. This was received as information.
Scientific Program consisted of an address by Dr. Horace G. Smithy on
"An Evaluation of Sympathetic Nerve Interruption in a Variety of Surgical Conditions."
This was illustrated with lantern slides. Dr. van de Erve,	The discussion was participated in by Drs. van de Erve and Kredel.
The meeting then adjoumed.
