The regular meeting of the Medical Society of South Carolina was opened 
at 7:OO P. M., Tuesday, Feby. 25, 1975 at the Country Club of Charleston by Dr. Charlton 
deSaussure, President.

Minutes approved.

Drs. Pappas and Hayes elected.

Report of Bd. of Comm. by Dr. B. S. Smith.

The Secretary read the minutes of the preceding meeting of November 26, 
1974 and these were accepted as read.

There were no proposals for membership.

The following candidates were balloted for and elected to membership in the 
Society having been approved by the Board of Censors. Dr. Anthony Pappas and Dr. James M. Hayes.

REPORT OF OFFICERS AND COMMITTEES

Dr. Bachman S. Smith, Jr., Chairman, reported for the Board of 
Commissioners and his report follows:

"Since the November 26, 1974 meeting of the Medical Society of South 
Carolina, the following are the developments within the hospital and action by the hospital Board 
which I believe nay be of interest for the Febry 25, 1975 meeting of the Society:

1) The hospital census has again returned to normal following the holiday 
slump. Overall hospital operations continue to show a surplus.

2) The year-end hospital audit has been completed and sent to the hospital 
Board. Hospital operations for the year 1973-1974 show a surplus of $5,948.97. Per diem 
cost for the year increased to 83-65.
