The regular meeting of the Medical Society of South Carolina was called to
order at 7:00 P. M. Tuesday, February 22, 1977, at the Country Club of Charleston by the
President, Dr. Charlton deSaussure.

The Secretary read the minutes of the preceding meeting of November 23,
1976 and these were accepted as read.
There were no proposals for membership or candidates to be balloted for.
REPORT OF OFFICERS AND COMMITTEES
Dr. Harold S. Pettit, chairman, gave the report of the Board of
commissioners and this is as follows:
Since the November 23, 1976 meeting of the Medical society of South
Carolina, the following are the developments within the hospital and action by the Board of
Commissioners, which I believe may be of interest for the February 22, 1977 meeting of the Society:
1) The hospital census has again returned to normal after the holiday
slump. Hospital operations continue to show a surplus.
