| Description | Charles W. Hanna, DMD, graduated in the first graduating class of the College of Dental Medicine (CDM),1971. During his interview Dr. Hanna discusses his experiences as a student, the changes in dental education, and the growth of the CDM over the last forty years. In his interview Dr. Hanna covers a variety of topics, including a typical day as a dental student. He describes his class schedule, his classmates, and his professors. He describes Dean John Buhler, his personality, and his relationship with the first graduating class. Additionally, Dr. Hanna discusses his participation in the Student American Dental Association. He goes on to describe his post-graduation military service, his dental career, and his involvement in the South Carolina Dental Association. He also shares his recollections of the 1969 hospital workers strike. |
