| Description | Chondrosarcoma in multiple osteochondromas. In both this and the next specimen (BO 4), a malignant tumor of cartilage has arisen in an osteochondroma. This risk is greater with multiple osteochondromas. The malignant foci are probably the yellowish discolored areas (necrosis and calcification( (arrows), but the definitive diagnosis is, of course, based on histologic examination. |
