Call to order
The regular meeting of the Medical Society of South Carolina was
called to order at 7:00 PM, Tuesday February 23, 1982 at the Country Club of Charleston by the
President, Dr. C. Ford Rivers.

The following guests were present:
Dr. Molly Bryant and Dr. Telfair Parker.

The Secretary read the minutes of the preceding meeting of November 24, 1981 and 
these were approved as read.

Two candidates, who had been passed by the Board of Censors, were elected to membership. These 
were Dr. Alton G. Brown Jr. and Dr. John C. Hawk, III.

The following report of the Board of Commissioners was presented by Dr. Harold S. Pettitt, Chairman:
Since the November 24, 1981 meeting of the Medical Society of South
Carolina, the following are developments within the Hospital and action by 
the Board of Commissioners which I believe may be of interest for the February 23, 1982
meeting of the Society:

1) The hospital census has returned to normal after the holiday drop.
Overall hospital operations continue to show a surplus.

2.)At the annual meeting of the Board of Commissioners, held January 25, 1982 the current Board 
Officers were, reelected, and the Administrative staff reappointed for the year 1982.
