Description	Letter, written by Dr. Alfred Blalock to Dr. John A. Boone of the Medical College of the State of South Carolina, expressing sympathy for the death of Dr. Horace G. Smithy and requesting details of Smithy's autopsy findings. Blalock also indicates his concern surrounding whether a valvulotomy would have been effective in treating Smithy's condition and decisions to be made in whether to perform a valvulotomy one of Smithy's patients.
