Description |
Large wooden case with metal handle and closures. Interior houses the Davidson Pneumothorax, used to treat pulmonary tuberculosis by causing an artificial pneumothorax or collapse of the lung by introducing air directly into the chest cavity, the implementation was thought to allow the lung to rest a heal more quickly. Over time anti-tuberculosis drugs became more readily available and replaced the use of the pneumothorax. The device is made of steel with glass barrels and a rubber pump attached with two loose pumps also included. 4x17x8.5 |
